After reading Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,
I found myself reflecting on the duality of human nature.
Regardless of intellect or refinement,
I began to question:
What is the true purpose of life?
Where does its joy come from?
In my artwork,
I expressed Jekyll’s nobility with a background of intellectual gray.
Then, with bold strokes of black and ink wash (먹선),
I traced the inner darkness— carving through flesh-bound instinct, stirring wild desire, and the sudden, savage joy of a soul breaking free.
