Description: My work is an ongoing investigation into the relationship between consciousness and chronology. Through the combination of geometric forms and the ancient Korean Material: , Hanji (rice paper), I seek to re-map the reality of time.
The geometry—the lines and irregular shapes—represents the firm, structural, and often analytical perspectives of our inner mind. These lines are not merely abstract; they are the fixed coordinates of our thoughts. When these structures are placed upon the organic, textural topology of Hanji, a new kind of perspective emerges. The Hanji, with its wrinkles, creases, and folds, embodies the lived, tactile experience of life itself. It creates a physical landscape where distance in time is experienced as distance in space.
This synthesis reveals my core belief: that moments from our past—our childhood, a moment of profound love—are not distant in a temporal sense, but are simply separate landscapes waiting to be visited. The way the Hanji and the geometric forms fit together in the work reflects how our memories and affections remain structurally intact, urging us to recognize that the past is a tangible place where love is forever held in its original coordinates.

제 작품은 의식과 연대기의 관계를 지속적으로 탐구하는 과정입니다. 저는 기하학적 형태와 한국의 고대 재료인 한지의 결합을 통해 시간의 실제를 재구성하고자 합니다.
선과 불규칙한 형태로 이루어진 기하학은 우리 내면의 확고하고 구조적이며 종종 분석적인 관점을 나타냅니다. 이 선들은 단순한 추상이 아니라, 우리의 사고가 머무는 고정된 좌표입니다. 이러한 구조가 한지의 유기적이고 질감 있는 지형 위에 놓일 때, 새로운 종류의 관점이 나타납니다. 한지는 주름, 구김, 접힘을 통해 삶의 살아 있는 촉각적 경험 그 자체를 구현합니다. 이는 시간 속의 거리가 공간 속의 거리로 경험되는 물리적 풍경을 창조합니다.
이러한 결합은 제 핵심적인 믿음을 드러냅니다. 즉, 우리의 과거—어린 시절, 깊은 사랑의 순간—는 시간적으로 멀리 떨어진 것이 아니라, 단순히 방문을 기다리는 별개의 풍경이라는 것입니다. 한지와 기하학적 형태가 작품 속에서 서로 맞물리는 방식은 우리의 기억과 애정이 여전히 구조적으로 온전히 남아 있음을 반영하며, 우리에게 과거가 사랑이 영원히 원래의 좌표에 보존되어 있는 유형의 장소임을 인식하도록 촉구합니다.
