The Resonance of Love

Artist Statement:
“My creative process is a constant journey of connecting the dots. When I immerse myself in a philosophical book or lose myself in the deep resonance of a cello, I don’t just observe—I feel a profound impact. I find myself asking: How can I take these heavy, invisible truths and transform them into a form of pure joy?
This painting, , is my answer. It is my attempt to create ‘Visual Music.’ Inspired by Kandinsky’s thoughts on the spiritual power of color, I chose a ‘cool red’—not as a flash of anger, but as a calm, steady fire of the soul. I wanted to capture the invisible vibration of the strings, turning that sound into a rhythmic, flowing wave that you can actually see on the canvas.
I want my art to be like the music I love. To me, the purpose of life is Love. It is the love of wisdom, the love of academic pursuit, and especially the love of art. These are the ‘sturdy roots’ that sustain me and keep me upright. When I find a beautiful idea in a book, I want to share that impact with you through my brush. I want to live a life where I am useful—where I can take the strength I find in my studies and offer it to the people around me.
In this world of chickens, eggplants, and green onions, everything is vibrating with that same harmony. I hope that when you look at this piece, you feel the same ‘deep resonance’ that I feel. My goal is to take the wisdom that grounds me and turn it into a joyous vibration that reaches out to touch your heart, just as music and philosophy have touched mine.

저의 작업은 철학적 사유와 음악적 진동, 그리고 삶 속의 소중한 순간들을 하나의 선으로 이어보려는 시도입니다. 서로 흩어져 있는 점들을 조심스럽게 연결하며, 그 안에서 의미를 발견해 가고자 합니다. 칸딘스키의 예술론을 접하며 색채가 지닌 보이지 않는 힘에 대해 깊이 생각하게 되었습니다. 이 작품 속 ‘차가운 빨강’은 단순한 강렬함을 넘어, 내면의 온기를 품고 있으면서도 차분하게 머무는 감정의 울림을 표현하고자 한 것입니다. 또한 첼로의 낮고 깊은 진동처럼, 눈에 보이지 않는 소리가 화면 위에 스며들 수 있을지를 고민하며 동양적인 파도의 흐름을 빌려 반복과 순환의 리듬을 담아보고자 했습니다. 제 작업이 제가 사랑하는 음악과 닮아가기를 바라는 마음이 있습니다. 사색 속에서 얻은 생각과 음악에서 받은 울림이 제 안에서 조용히 만날 때, 그 경험을 작은 형태로나마 작품으로 나누고 싶어집니다. 제 삶을 지탱해 주는 중요한 가치 중 하나는 ‘사랑’입니다. 지혜를 향한 마음, 예술을 향한 마음이 저를 붙들어 주고, 그로 인해 주변의 사람들과 따뜻한 관계를 이어가고 싶다는 바람을 갖게 됩니다. 이 그림 속 닭과 채소들이 만들어내는 소박한 리듬 또한 그러한 마음의 한 표현입니다. 이 작업을 통해 전해지는 작은 울림이, 보시는 분들의 마음에도 잔잔하고 따뜻하게 머물기를 바랍니다
