Description: This artwork is a dynamic *feast of joys and beauty* (잔치) where traditional Asian expression meets raw, contemporary Material: ity. The piece begins with bold, powerful lines drawn in ink on delicate rice paper (화선지), followed by the form of the plum blossom (매화), the celebrated symbol of patience and endurance.
The underlying structure of the painting is a profound nod to Korean heritage: the horizontal and vertical lines represent the framework of the traditional Korean door (bangmun) and window paper (Changhoji). This subject became a favorite, inspired by the cherished childhood memory of watching my parents renew the Changhoji yearly.
The raw wooden panel from Home Depot serves as a deliberate modern base, allowing its texture to integrate with the final abstract surface. Once attached, the paper was painted over with acrylics and accented with lines that include the subtle form of chopsticks, symbols of life companions.
The final composition is an exploration of strength and emotion, culminating in a visual feast that celebrates the resilience of the plum blossom alongside the beauty and integrity of the Korean traditional home. The integration of the maehwa and the Changhoji honors an essence that allows me to see true, profound beauty.

이 작품의 근간을 이루는 수평 및 수직 선은 한국 전통 가옥의 방문과 창호지의 모습을 담고 있습니다. 어릴 적 부모님께서 매년 창호지를 교체하시던 추억에 깊이 매료되었고, 그 모습이 저의 가장 좋아하는 작업 주제 중 하나가 되었습니다.
홈디포 나무 패널은 의도적인 현대적 재료로, 나무의 소박한 질감이 추상적인 표면과 통합되도록 합니다. 그림을 부착하고 아크릴을 칠한 후, 인생의 동반자를 상징하는 젓가락의 미묘한 형태를 선으로 강조했습니다.
