Orange Rooster Playing the Viola

$980.00

In my work, color is not merely a visual component; it is a language used to articulate emotion, energy, and atmosphere. I am particularly drawn to the theories of Wassily Kandinsky, who suggested that orange evokes a sense of health and self-assured power. To allow this vibrant energy to resonate with confidence, I chose a white chicken as my primary canvas, providing a clean foundation for the color to truly “speak.”
My creative vision for this piece was to visualize the physical experience of sound. I deliberately adorned the chicken’s ears, arms, and entire body with musical notes to show a holistic sensory journey: the ears hear the music, the limbs perform it, and the entire body vibrates with the rhythm.
While I have incorporated Kandinsky’s geometric language—using straight lines to represent tension and curves for organic flow—I have integrated these elements with my own symbolic use of musical notation. By treating the chicken’s body as a living musical score, I bridge the gap between his abstract signs and my own rhythmic imagery.
The instruments further reflect this playful harmony: the viola is reimagined as a spaghetti squash to mirror the soft, flowing texture of its sound, while the bow is crafted from garlic. Through this fusion of culinary forms and abstract rhythm, I hope to radiate a bright, healthy, and spirited atmosphere.
