Description: This 16 x 40 inch acrylic on canvas work, the complement to "Yearning," shifts the focus from a longing for origin to the vibrant reality of a shared life. The artwork is built upon Hanji (Korean rice paper), which captures the texture of experience.
A vast field of Teal/Aqua Blue dominates the canvas, symbolizing the colored journey of life itself. The pure white geometric forms represent our original, simpler self—the source we often miss. In this piece, however, the white is not separate; it is intermingled with the blue.
This intermingling embodies the core theme: the precious humans in our lives and the affections and respects we share with them. The color bleeding into the white and across the Hanji's ripples visually affirms that embracing others' complexities—their "ripples"—is what ultimately shapes our own life's flow, leading to a richer, more beautiful existence.
